Antique 1903 Royal Doulton England Floral Vase In Art Nouveau Style
Dimensions 6.25" inches tall and 4.5" inches round or diameter / Weight 5380 grams / All dimensions are approximate
Original, signed and stamped Royal Doulton Vase with pretty blue lilies painted on a egg white background and ornate with gold accents and pattern. In 1901, the company introduced a new Doulton mark with the lion, crown and ‘intersecting D motif’. The Coronet for couple of years was same as in previous stamps but was replaced for a different crown around 1903. The new mark and use of the name ‘Royal Doulton’ as opposed to ‘Doulton’ celebrate the grant of the Royal Warrant to Doulton by King Edward VII in 1901. From 1901 to 1922 the standard mark appears with the words ‘Royal Doulton’ and ‘England’.
This vase is a rare piece in absolutely excellent condition with not visible sign of age or wear. However, there is a small dark spot on top, see photos. An excellent vase for a collector or a museum in need of XIX Century English pottery.
