Vintage Toshikane porcelain longevity god souvenir spoon. Made in Japan around the 1950s, this spoon is marked Tokyo. The bowl the bamboo shaped stem are made of metal. Detailed little god figure topping the spoon is hand painted and hand carved in porcelain. That is Fukurokuju, the God of Wealth. In Japan, Fukurokuju, from Japanese fuku "happiness" roku "wealth" and ju "longevity"; is one of the Seven Lucky Gods in Japanese mythology.
The spoon has the original tags. Some signs of age to the bowl of the spoon. Other wise, in a very good condition!
Toshikane represents the very finest in distinguished glazed porcelain. Toshikane manufactures its porcelain in Japan. Starting in the 1930s, they were not commonly exported until the 1960s.
